geared up for snowmobiling in Iceland

I write and create art for PB, MG, and YA books, from contemporary to historical and have had twenty books published, five of which I wrote. My novella appeared in two issues of Cicada magazine in summer, 2014 and I have done other work for a number of Cricket group magazines. A long-time member of SCBWI, I also belong to two critique groups for writers and am a regular contributor to WritersRumpus, the blog of the Andover, MA SCBWI critique group.

As I was developing my writing and illustrating, I worked part time at the Andover Bookstore and also as a designer for a book distributor. These were good insights into how books are marketed and sold along with what consumers are looking for.

The heaviest steel sculpture I’ve built is 700 pounds. Not so big, though I’m only 4’11” tall. For fifteen years I taught part time in the Art Department at Middlesex Community College. My husband and I’ve kayaked with whales twenty miles out to sea, hiked the Italian Dolomites, and ventured atop the glacier at Finse, Norway. My daughter and I went to Burning Man, I’ve experienced the Ring Road around Iceland for one son’s wedding,W-Joyce-drawing and the other’s wedding in a small castle.

Life is intriguing. Nature is my mentor.
